Through the iteration process, the inspiration for the formal aspects of the chair were the scientific sine waves. The way we originally visualized sound. These sinuous waves were each used to perform the function of two of the four fundamental elements of any chair, namely: the backrest, leg rest, front legs and back legs. For example, one of the spline strips would function as the leg rest and the back leg. The permutation and combinations of all these strips together formed a comfortable and functioning lounge chair with depth and layering.
